Toxic Habits: Sleep is for the Weak

This generation seriously has a sleep deprivation problem.

Alright, I know that this may seem weird but hear me out. Have you ever seen a high school or college student who’s extremely happy with their life?

With all the mental health illnesses and the issues around the world from the forest fires to the pandemic, I can see how everyone is simply grasping for air; just finding a little control in their life.

For some reason, our society has put so much pressure on the new generation as many new geniuses as there have been a surge of young start-up entrepreneurs appearing in social media. But even with this, no one tells the postmodern youth about the failures and challenges that it may bring. Therefore, causing anixety and depression, sickness, and mental health problems.

Just as the ”Grind & Hussle Culture” has formed, youth today are now pushed to stay awake and work in harsh conditions and environments to pursue “career success” and their “dreams” even at the cost of their family time and their social life. Being driven is not bad, but pushing yourself too much is, so please get some rest.

By neglecting health (eating and sleeping at the right times), people may not be noticing how they have then been stirring up society to the wrong direction.

If people choose to be productive without the rest, we will digress and kill our new generation.

Thus, I urge you to please help your friends and family just get some rest and sleep (without all the unnecessary pressure of school and work). Life has already been hard for the majority due to the pandemic. Don’t make it worse by pushing the old dilemmas and toxic culture of the past.

Having a work-life balance should be the new normal.
